RULES
- The Committee will consist of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixtures Secretary, Competition Secretary, Results Secretary and Webmaster. The Committee shall be formed with Officers elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, the date of which is to be notified to all clubs at least one month in advance. The AGM shall be called in the month of June. An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called by the Committee and or by twenty five members or twenty five percent of the membership whichever is less. The President is entitled to attend any meeting.
- Rule Amendments: proposals to amend any rule(s) must be in writing and signed by both the proposer and the seconder . It must be delivered to the Secretary at least three weeks before the AGM
- All team fees (as agreed at an AGM) if not paid on the registration evening, may be sent by post to the Secretary/Chairman. Payments by post must arrive three days before the day of the registration evening.
- Teams to consist of, three players each playing two frames against two different opponents.
- All players. The Team Captain will ensure that all players are bona-fide members of their club. All known players to be registered at team registration any additional players to be recorded for both teams on the first result card entered. New players may be registered prior to a match by notifying the Results Secretary or if not available any committee member. Points will be deducted if a player is found ineligible for any reason.
- Suspensions: Any league player suspended by a League Club will be ineligible to play in the league or any league competitions for the length of the suspensions. The player may be able to play in away matches if the player is able to demonstrate to the Committee concerns regarding the suspension. Any team knowingly playing a suspended club member will forfeit the match.
- The Snooker League will consist of divisions; promotion and relegation to be on the basis of one team promoted and one team relegated. The Committee reserves the right to effect any changes in the structure of the divisions should these become unworkable.
- Points are awarded as 1 point per game.
- Teams which withdraw before the seasons end: points obtained by the opposing team will stand for every complete round of matches.
- Order of play. Before play commences, The Captain of the home team should complete their playing order, followed by the Captain of the visiting team, on the result card provided. Home players are responsible for paying all table expenses and whenever possible refereeing and marking matches. On commencement of matches no player shall practise on another table.
- Where two or more teams finish level on league points the number of team wins will decide first place. If still level the points obtained between the two teams will decide.
- Competitions: Entries to Competition Secretary only. Home draw to arrange match. Each round will have a contact by date and a play by date. The home player must offer three different days including a weekend, by the play by date. Failure of the home player to make either, contact with the away player, or inform the Competition Secretary of the result on time, will result in the away player progressing through to the next round. The home draw should provide a referee. No recognised 1st division player shall enter 2/3 division singles. The Finals shall have an approved referee. The League will pay for the cost of the finals, which will be played on neutral tables, unless agreed otherwise by the finalists. The Team KO and Jaobi Culverhouse Trophy Memorial will be best of seven frames. The winners of a toss of a coin will have the choice of home or away status. Order of play to be, home team BACABC, away team ACBABC .The Dickie Watts Memorial Trophy to be a handicap competition, best of five frames throughout. The Snooker Pairs to be best of five throughout. The Snooker Individual Competitions, best of five with the final best of seven.
- Matches to commence at 7.30 p.m. If an opposing team fails to appear by 7.30.p.m. the first frame will be awarded to the team in attendance. Subsequent frames will be awarded at quarter-hour intervals. At 8.15.p.m. the team in attendance will receive all six points. Any team failing to turn up twice in a season without, good reason will be suspended for the rest of the season, and the points obtained by the opposing teams will be deducted. Entry into the League the next season will de at the discretion of the Committee.
- Snooker League Results. The Results Secretary must receive the results no later than midday on the first Monday following the match. Matches may be played before the play by date if both teams are in agreement No postponements of matches will be allowed unless permission has been obtained from the opposing team and the Results Secretary (Chairman if the Results Secretary is not contactable) Postponed matches whenever possible should be played within 7 days and no later than 14 days of the original match. It is the responsibility of the defaulting team to rearrange the fixture. All matches must be completed within seven days of the season’s end. If not played within the time allocated the Committee will set a date by which the match is to be played. Any team not complying with this rule may be penalised. The Committee’s decision will be final.
- Club representative(s): all clubs to nominate a club representative to whom all competion information will be sent. Representative to advise Competition Secretary of home address, telephone number and e-mail address.
- All players shall abide by the rules of the club they are attending.
- The Committee shall decide upon any matter for which no provision is made in the forgoing rules. Any protest must be made in writing to the Secretary or Chairman within seventy two hours of the incident.
- All matches to be played in accordance with the rules of English Snooker.
- No proxy votes will be accepted at any meeting.
